I was working on a paper and had just saved anything. I wasnt paying attention and I streched the laptop cord too far and pulled out the plug with my big toe. This laptop is a POS and I was using wordpad, not MSword. I open up the file iw as working on a find its now corrupt. (A bunch of empty blank squares). Does anyone have somethign that will repair the file. Its a richtext file.

i always try to remember to hit CTRL+S every few minutes when i'm writing up something big.

That, or if you're offline use a non-sucky text editor that has an auto-save function built-in. Never use Wordpad. It sucks hard.

I've been there too (losing something I put a lot of time into) and I know it sucks!

thanks for input. i saved the file thats not prob. when the cord came out while i had the window open it corrupted the text or something inside the document. so now everything is a bunch of empty blank squares. weird
