Just woke up this am to a notice in my cj account about an upcoming hearing for a South Carolina ad tax. I'm still waiting on my invite to be accepted in the Google group with more details about the hearing so will update the thread, but was hoping to get some tips from others in New York or wherever who have dealt with this before.

For those living in states where this type of legislation passed, and worked with CPA networks, was it the network that dropped you, or did it come down to getting kicked off certain types of offers (e.g. asseenontv)?

Let's say it passes and I start getting dropped from CPS programs left and right. Could I just incorporate myself in another state, get a local mailbox in that area and just have the mail forwarded?

If anyone has a contact such as an affiliate I might be able to chat with, or attorney/tax pro and would pm it over, that would be much appreciated as well.

That should be a warning for everybody considering every state is going to fucking do it at this rate.

man that sucks just spent a week in charleston and was considering moving there hoping gov'ts wake up and realize how stupid these tax laws are

This law was passed in NC last year and it has had 0 impact on my business. All affiliate networks (except CJ & Amazon) work with the law. It really isn't a big deal. It is a dumb law that I'm sure brings in almost no revenue but it won't kill your business.

Does your list of affiliate networks not working with the law just comprise those 2, or are you referring in general to those networks who tend to use cost-per-sale?

Yes, those are the only two that I am aware of. Even clickbank complies with the law. Most of my business is CPS and I haven't run into an issue yet.
