Sprint vs Verizon vs AT&T?

I'm really looking into getting the new HTC Evo 4G from sprint when that comes out in June, unless the new iPhone does something really amazing, which I doubt it will. The HTC Incredible is also another phone that I would get, it's basically the same as the HTC Evo minus the 4G, HDMI out, and Front camera. So finding the right phone is not really a problem, to me all three phones will be about the same when it comes down to hardware.

So basically it's the network that will decide which phone I get. Right now I'm with AT&T, and generally I cannot complain, but I know my brother has much better service with Verizon. I looked online, and in my area (south jersey) generally verizon has the best coverage, then followed by AT&T, then sprint. But sprint has roaming which uses verizon towers, so then they would have just as good of coverage, right? From everyone I've talked to they've all said that sprint has the best data coverage too, my main use of a phone, and one of the main reasons I get frustrated with AT&T. Then price comes into play, Sprint is about $69 a month, while AT&T and Verizon are both $99, $30 a month is a pretty decent savings if you're not getting anything better with the more expensive one. another cool thing about sprint right now is they have 4G in philly, I don't go to philly a lot, but once every month or two...and that'd be kinda cool to use, but that's not a selling point. Sprint also has a feature with the Evo where you can share the phone like a mifi hotspot for up to eight other computers, that's something that does make me want to switch to them too.

anyone have any good/bad suggestions about any of these companies? based off online research I don't see why I wouldn't go with sprint right now.

verizon is great, probably my favorite phone provider thus far. at&t on the other hand can go fuck a broken bottle. never had sprint so not sure there

I used t-mobile for a long time and had excellent service with them. I got an iPhone last year so had to switch to att. I love the iPhone, hate att. Dropped calls are more common than not.

Sprint: Cheapest data plan, not as good of coverage as VZW. Unlimited data + text + 450 mins + nights @ 7pm + mobile to mobile on ANY cell any network = $59 with SERO
AT&T: Shitty coverage, dropped calls, expensive. iPhone and slightly faster 3G (where available)
Verizon: Best coverage of all service, 3G everywhere. Expensive, locked down phones.

I've with T-mobile and Im looking for a new phone, they are cheap and quality service but they have the worst phones I've ever seen. I want to switch but at the same time I dont want to pay more :(

I have AT&T and don't have any problems with it where I live, but whenever I travel, I have to watch the fuckers with Verizon talk on their phones while I'm sitting there with no signal on my fucking iphone.

6 more months until my contract is up with AT&T, then I'm out.

AT&T seems to always get mixed reviews, cause it's service gets overloaded. Where I live in the suburbs of south jersey, I've never had 1 problem with AT&T and slight better coverage than VZW, now when I go to school in north jersey, I'm constantly losing coverage because the network can't handle all the phones. This past weekend at bamboozle all the iPhones there basically killed AT&Ts data network in that area, all day I had no data plan basically. I've never heard of this on sprint or verizon so I'm pretty sure i'll be making the switch. plus if verizon gets an iphone, I'll go to verizon for sure...there's just something about them that I like...not sure why, since android is a lot less locked down.

You can get really good coverage with ATT- and when you do, you better stand as still as possible if you want to keep it.

Never had any issues with ATT. Works great all over Wisconsin, and when I've traveled it's always been there without issue. I really don't understand all the bitching.

I've had AT&T since my GoPhone in '00. Got an iphone now.

Tmobile for the last 10 years. They have never let me down and I plan on picking up an Android MyTouch 3G Slide from them pretty soon.

I had Virgin Mobile before that and hated it.

I dumped my iPhone for a Verizon Droid Incredible yesterday.

I like the iPhone but the Incredible does everything and more that the iPhone did. PLUS, it tethers with my laptop and the iPhone can't. I need that. Plus, the GPS Navigation on the Incredible is free and is turn by turn. Oh, and the camera is 8 mgpx and it has a flash.

So far, one day, it's been great. And, since my wife had a Verizon account I save like $30 a month.

Also, I had no problem with AT&T in my town. But when I traveled it was horrible.

My wife's company uses Sprint exclusively for the data and she says the employees like it for data transmission. But she HATES the customer service -- it's horrible. Every time Dan Hesse comes on the TV for a Sprint ad she yells, LIAR!

just played with the incredible in the verizon store...it's pretty awesome...browser speeds were much faster than i've ever experienced on the iphone, although it's not really fair to compare since i've only got an iPhone 3g, and this phone is four or five times better...but still...the download speeds were much faster...I like android A LOT more with htc sense, over nothing, that's one thing I didn't like about the motorola droid. Also i saw an HTC HD2 which has the same screen as the HTV Evo 4G, and I'm starting to think that screen might be too big? Looks like verizon is getting me back, now if only they allowed more than 5 people on a family plan...

I live in the SOMA. When I had AT&T I could make phone calls and use 3G only about 20% of the time.. it absolutely sucked.. not to mention 40% dropped calls on that 20%. :-/

Switched to Verizon and not looking back. Besides, the 3G is a lot faster.
