I'm curious, do the search engines rank squidoo and hubpages sites well? Are the links from these sites comparable to social bookmarking sites or better? Thanks

squidoo is really good and powerful, it is free and must be included in your marketing plan. My lenses have ranked well in google.. squidoo,hubpages,ezine-- they give good backlinks

is ezine the only site where they have to approve your article?

is there some place you could point a newbie to for understanding how to use squidoo and hubpages?

ok read about squidoo - so do you make a new lense for every new wbesite you build that needs backlinks? or do you put links to multiple sites on one squidoo page?

I love hubpages, but I think squidoo ranks better. Just make sure the content on it has a high keyword density, relevant title and that you tag your site with good keywords. Also, to make it pleasing to the viewer, throw in some vids or pics.

squidoo used to rank better until people used it for spamming :D. the new policies might get it back on top. Hubpages is very good, maintained and ranks very well.

Basically, you can get any page on the Internet to rank well in search engines. If you focus on the getting back links, having quality articles with targeted keywords, and est.

Its a little tougher with hubpages, blogger, and squidoo because you have less control on the design and coding of the page. But the advantage is that their free.

How I see it. This is the formula for ranking good in search engines.

Back Links + Quality Content = High Ranking

If you think it's harder to rank with HubPages + Squidoo then you're own domain than you should quit now.

So where are you guys promoting and getting backlinks for your Hubpages & Squidoo lenses. Just normal blog commenting and social bookmark stuff to get some links here and there.

Ordinarily, if it were a normal domain I'd just buy some directory link package and build up a few thousand links over a 60 day period, but with most directories won't take a www.squidoo.com/yourlens link. So what's the secret to getting more links for these freebies like Squidoo, Hubpages, Ezine etc.

xentech, its more of lack of experience with hubpages and squidoo but the reason I said, "little tougher" is because other authority sites are more hesitant to give links back (not saying they don't but just tougher). Personally, When someone request links to their hubpage, blogger, and squidoo, I normally turn them down. However I might be making a mistake on my part on turning these links down.

You give a good point there. Most linking I do is blackhat so having an authorative domain is key.

Sorry I didn't mean to be such a prick with my last response, I'd just woken up :)
