I've tried everything. Couldn't ever get used to any "non-traditional" setups. For me the easiest/best/only solution is to simply take a lot of breaks and never work for more than 1-2 hours at a time.
Some of the best advice when it comes to all of that was one that my eye doctor gave me - every 15-20 minutes take 1 minute to look out the window.
Some of the best advice when it comes to all of that was one that my eye doctor gave me - every 15-20 minutes take 1 minute to look out the window. I changed it to every hour I take a 3-5 minute break and walk out on the terrace/balcony and relax.
Productivity went up a lot.
I know this is in no way related to what you asked, but just offering an alternative.
I remember reading Chad (CDF Networks) tweet about converting to a standing-up desk and I think he liked it.
Anybody else convert to a standing desk? Good decision? Bad decision?
If I end up trying it out I'll post results.
Also on the topic of productivity through less eye strain (especially at night) this is the single best thing I ever installed.
I work in my kitchen about 80% of the time i'll stand at the counter with 2 laptops
Flux ftw!
Done this also, works really well most of the time. Watch your posture though.
So when I was smoking I was actually doing the best thing for myself taking regular breaks and going outside?
Maybe I will start taking cigarette breaks without the smokes now.
