Hey Everyone,

Still pretty knew to SEO. Wanted to get advice on generating traffic to some of my new sites.

I have already started the CL posting which is getting a couple hundred of people to my sight a day. Content, meta tags, submissions (SE) are getting me another 100 a day. Emailers are getting another 100 or so as well.

Questions is: any pointers on where to get more traffic to my site after I just launched it? I know that is kind of a vague questions but looking for other places to start. Basically right now, I have CL, Emails, SE, Fresh content added daily, linked to blogs daily, meta tags, started back linking. Any other suggestions???

Haven't yet. I don't have a keyword program yet and I am trying to build sites on content, linking, etc before I go that route. Really I am just trying to build ranking before I put I launch my sales sites. Trying to have the promo side up well before I launch the site.

PPC is also an expensive route for Newbies I hear.

What's CL posting? Lol.

CL = craigslist

if you are working on link building, have you gone down the directory route?

if you're 'sales' sites aren't complete yet, why are you building anything other then your sales sites?? seems like you already have potential customers coming to your site, and selling to them (with a little tracking..) would give you an idea of what is working and what isn't

It will probably have been said over and over again already on here but for me the best way of getting traffic to my site was through the content.

Google loves original, relevant content and their traffic is (in my opinion) great.

Original content >> Better rankings with more keywords >> Better conversion rates.

Targeted traffic is better than poor quality traffic and whats more, providing your sales offerings is relevant to your targeted traffic then sales will follow.

yeah, that is what I am starting to learn. Still hard to rank on content alone though. The only sites I have gotten to rank have a lot of advertising and tons of links.

The sites I have that have a lot of targetted content haven't been ranked yet (unless I advertise them).

I am still playing around with it though. Thanks for the post

Three things you should look at:

1. SEO
2. Paid advertising - PPC, banners, text ads, etc.
3. Other link buidling method for more targeted traffic.

I have tried Yahoo answers yet but I will give it a try tomorrow. If you go into Yahoo answers and keep responding with your web page want people consider you a spammer. I though that was very similar to forums.

running some ads on CL-Craigslist.

Oh my god, I'm n00b D:

How do you post on CL without getting flamed? Isn't it against TOS to just... advertise your site?

I've done that before and people seem pretty negative towards it.

Hey Charstiny, glad I could be your first post.

I didn't just advertise a site on CL. I had 1 site that offers a service and another that sells electronic products. I just posted 5 or so ads a day between the two. Initially it got me 250-500 people to my site a day, that was all I was saying.

Didn't get any negative feedback. It was actually a good source for me to start. If I started just posting random links to blogs, etc, yes, then yoiu would get flamed.
