It looks like stocks could take the hardest hit yet today, already down 550 in after hours which is the max. When the market opens, some are predicting 1000 or 2000 pt drops, based on what happened in foreign markets. I've already been buying up stocks, but I'm thinking of loading up again if this happens. Anyone else dumping money into stocks lately having any luck? I was up, but the last 2 days put my negative again.

my whole portfolio is down about 40% - blah - thinkin about buying some index etfs sicne the market is so low.

Warren Buffet is loading up.

I've got some cash to play with. Also sitting on the sidelines, waiting to push the button. How much lower can it go.

I just joined Zecco the other day thinking it's prob good to buy stocks now. Too bad I know NOTHING about investing and buying stocks options. I started reading up on options, but was a little confused. It's something i'll need to set aside some time for and not glance at while i'm doing AM. But seems like there are a lot of bargains out there...

Some good stocks to buy right are are:

NRO - Closed today at 2.9, it's a cheap stock right now and not traded heavily, but what is so good about this one is it pays monthly dividends .15 a share.

CHK - this one has potential short and long term.

And too Rgorodon, I wouldn't recommend getting into options if you know nothing about investing.

Thanks. I was just looking for some deals. Will look into it. That real estate stock is really cheap.

CHK - Chesapeake Energy Corporation - Google Finance
NRO - Neuberger Berman Real Estate Sec Inc Fd - Google Finance

Zecco has been good for me too plus this month, they have free equity trades so you don't pay anything when you buy.

There definitely are a lot of cheap companies right now. Seriously when it comes to stock market, it pays to be boring. Think Warren Buffet style. He buys boring companies on the cheap that have mature businesses, cash flow and good mgmt. Then he holds them for the long hall. Dude's the richest man in the world, maybe you should follow his example.

When the market goes down another 10% or so, start buying S&P500 ETF's (spiders). Basically you're buying the whole market this way. 85% of all investors (including professionals and mutual funds) can't beat the return of this index. Use this as a foundation. Don't try to be in the 15% yet..

Then build on that foundation with stocks that have a strong chance of being around for a long time and that have a global presence. THINK: Coca Cola, McDonalds, Johnson and Johnson, Citicorp, YUM Brands, Exxon Mobile, GE, etc. These companies have sales all around the world, which will help you weather financial storms no matter where they start.
