You have a WordPress site that's making you hundreds, maybe even thousands of dollars a month; and instead of hosting on real servers with real people watching it, you place it next to the unwashed masses on HostGator or GoDaddy.

FUCK THAT.

Enter Pressto. Hosting So Easy It's Like Magic.

If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that I've written a custom system for upgrading all my WP installations just minutes after an upgrade comes out. Today, that service is now available to you for just $19.95/month.

"But that's 10x more expensive than what I pay now! And you don't have unlimited disk space!!! HURRRRR"

First, you don't have unlimited disk space either. Stop getting jerked off by marketing executives. Second, Pressto provides way more than 10x the value of other hosting companies. When the TimThumb exploit came out a couple weeks ago, did they patch, and notify you of the problem? We did for our customers.

Are they hosting a reasonable number of people per server or are they cramming people in as hard and and as fast as they can? We're about quality, and service. We understand what load averages mean, and we understand their correlation with happy customers.

Consider this:
A news story breaks with a hot new niche for you. You register a domain name, but don't want to go through the time intensive task of setting up WordPress correctly (Fantastico is garbage, ask GoDaddy) and then sticking it on crummy hosting that might cost you thousands of dollars in lost clicks, lost links due to downtime or lost rankings because your site is now the latest puppet site for "Buy Viagra".

Instead, Signup for Pressto, have your installation done in under 2 minutes, and start cranking out content on a platform that's ready to help you start serving pages quickly and efficiently.

Pressto is for internet marketing professionals serious about quality, about service, and about results.

Do yourself a favor, unfuck yourself, and move that money site from slow, insecure, unreliable hosting to something made for people like you.

Pressto - Managed Wordpress Hosting

So are you monitoring customers' sites for quality? Do you guarantee that my site(s) wouldn't be hosted on the same servers as spammy sites? Just curious as a possible customer.

Thanks

by the way regarding hosting on godaddy...i used to think they had lame hosting also because of the very same reasons but truthfully

they are a great way to host if your into MFA. since they host thousands of sites on one IP you can pretty much keep a low profile since you kind of blend in.

just mis dos centavos

Hey guys thanks for the interest. Let me go ahead and answer some questions:

Yes, we monitor for quality. If someone is hosting pills, porn, or malware, we're going to address that issue quickly. Bottom line: Your site will not be in a bad neighborhood.

GoDaddy has had mass Wordpress hacks that are suspected to be an internal server exploit, rather than a problem with WP. They never really copped to what it was.

Not hating your hustle, but if you're doing MFA, then you probably don't need a service like Pressto anyway.

Listen guys you'd be crazy not to go with Pressto. I used it on one of my sites and I instantly had 50 hot chicks at my door wanting to do me. I also won the lottery, shit gold, and had all my student loans forgiven. Pressto is amazing. If you don't use it I'll sue you. YEAAAAA. *this message may or may not have been paid for, or influenced with baked goods, by Pressto.

But in all seriousness I know how hard Josh has been working on this so get up on it. If you're not happy let me know and I'll kick him in the nuts for you.

So you wrote a cron job?

I'm not trying to bash your service or something, but for $50/mo you can get a decent fully-managed VPS with a couple of dedicated IP's and the guys take care of security issues for you.

I wish I could package and sell a cron job, it's a little more complicated than that. Lots of server guys can lock down a server, but they often don't know the intricacies of WordPress. The timthumb exploit is the latest in a long line of problems that the average user doesn't or just found out about. This stuff is weeks old.

That's reactive, not proactive. They respond when you ask them to. He's offering proactive scanning. There's a huge difference.

What was that server-wide update? Did you patch all TimThumb's or just disabled it on each WP install?

Huh? proactive as opposed to a scenario where you ask them why you got rooted, they check the logs and tell you how it happened? Come on, WTF? :)

Most security companies if there is no update will wait until you report to them you think there is a "security breach". Then they work on fixing it. That's reactive.

When they scan you randomly looking for issues like "viagra" on your page, etc - that's proactive. They look to find it before you do.

I patched the timthumbs when they had a good patch and added a rule to mod_sec before the patch was out to prevent this kind of tom foolery.

Patching you even when you were not exploited, proactive. Getting them to patch you after you find out you were hacked, reactive.

Mod_sec rules to protect your site before it happens, proactive. Seeing the trend here (not trying to be a dick, asking legitimately)?

Don't get me wrong, I'm just trying to figure out how your service is better than the one I'm using. No, I'm not paid to promote mine (they don't even have an aff program) and I didn't even mention it, so I surely hope you won't shoot me for hijacking your sales pitch.

I see where you're coming from. I just forwarded this tread to the guys I'm working with, in case they're not here already (never bothered to check). Looking forward to their input.

Most security companies if there is no update will wait until you report to them you think there is a "security breach".

Companies that offer managed hosting are usually up to date with "mainstream" security issues and take action the moment they get an update. I mean it's not rocket science, the threat just gets forwarded to your mailbox and you have to apply the patch in a for() loop, or just disable the service/plugin/script till you get an update. At least this is what I'd like to believe most companies do :)

Here's the deal:

* Automatic Upgrades to the latest stable WP Version.
* High quality servers (Quad core), low average loads, low user count.
* High quality neighbors.
* Daily back ups
* Security above and beyond your standard VPS.
* Less than 2 minutes to setup.

You can install WP yourself. And upgrade it yourself. And back it up yourself. And keep hackers out yourself. Or, if your time is more valuable than that, you can pay us an Andrew Jackson every month and we'll handle it.

That's what you're overemphasizing about your service and is the whole point that got me started. Installing, upgrading and backing up can be fully automated, and if you don't have the skills to do it yourself you can pay an Indian kid on DP $20-ish to do it for you. There's no lost time here, it's a set and forget job. Not worth paying for it one month after another in my books.

The Wordpress security issue, on the other hand, is a whole other ball game, and this is where you win. But, again, I'm just not sure if it's worth the extra $$$. And I also don't know what your market is. Ballers most likely have a dedicated security person in their company, and average people like me can live with daily backups and, in case shit hits the fan, can probably afford to lose a couple of hours worth of traffic till the site gets back up. But this is none of my business, I'm sure you've done your homework and know where you're going :)

BackLinksMonkey--

I appreciate your viewpoint. You represent a huge number of people who I wish I could cater to. MFA sites need quality hosting too -- but it's just not that mission critical.

Send me a PM. Maybe I have an idea that could be the right answer for more people. It's weird, everyone says keep an eye our for "the pivot" but for some reason "pivot" keeps hitting me right in the fucking face.
