I made an app, signed up for an iTunes developer account, submitted the app, and it was approved. But then I realized that when users navigate to it in the App Store, they see my name, which obviously I don't want. I called Apple and they said the only way to change it so it doesn't show your name is to register a business and convert your developer account to a business account. So I registered a separate LLC just to use for iTunes, converted my account to a business account, then realized you have to separately apply for a business tax ID number because they don't let you use a personal bank account to receive your app earnings, so I did that, and after all that trouble MY APP IS STILL DISPLAYING UNDER MY OWN NAME AND NOT MY COMPANY NAME.

Their reps are clueless. Does anyone here know what's going on? I'm thinking about just deleting the app, the account, everything, and then re-submitting it on one of my friends' accounts. But then who knows if Apple will say "oh we already approved this app so you can't re-submit it" and then I'm screwed because I can't even put it in the App Store at all.

jeeze that sucks! apple is so power hungry and domineering it makes me sick =/ hope they allow my app when it gets done.

IDK man, bumpin this for ya. they should let you change details in a new "release" with "changes" i would think.

if i remember correctly, they say many times in the help files and application process that the app will be displayed under your name in the app store.

The app doesn't update even though your account was upgraded to a business dev. Foursquare's app is still under the CTO of 4SQ's name because he created the app with a personal account.

You could try getting them to switch it, but unless you're a baller they're not going to bother.

I was able to find a competent iTunes rep and after many emails and documents and all kinds of shit, the name has now been changed to reflect the new company name.

If anyone is thinking about developing for Apple, trust me it's a fucking nightmare. There's so many random ass rules you have to follow, it takes a long ass time to get the shit approved, and then you have to deal with shit like this. I have a couple apps in the Android Market and all you have to do is submit it on their website and 10 minutes later it's live.

XD. What's the name of the app and what does it do? I have $50 laying in my iTunes account and I want to waste it on some shit already.
