My AM career started in November.

I assume the summer months are going to bring a dropoff in AM volume (assuming I'm not targeting summer commercial products).

Although it's impossible to know exactly, I would like to get an idea of how much my volume will be affected. I'm big on hitting daily/weekly profit goals.

So if I need to expect a 50% drop off of normal volume, then I will work extra hard to pump up the volume/profit heading into these months.

So, my question is, what kind of a dropoff can I most likely look forward to?

I know, of course, it can DEPEND on the niche(s), but lets just say I'm in ALOT of very popular niches and plan to stay in these and other popular niches. (ie grants, biz opp, diet, etc.)

first off were did this assumption come from?

Having owned many offline businesses, I saw them all affected by the summer slow down. Before that I was a sales trainer for years and every product I ever marketing slowed down in the summer . (I never marketed sun tan lotion).

However, if you are going to tell me that things DONT slow down in AM in the summer, then GREAT.

But I don't think that's what your implying...

Did anyone read my original post? I am not asking for summertime product suggestions.

I am curious as to what effect the summer has AM in general. From those who have experienced a couple or few summers in AM.

If you're good, you shouldn't notice any change other than always increasing your volume no matter what the season.

it depends on so many different factors theres no way for you to really know until you go through the summer months. now might be a good time to try a bunch of new and different things and get them ready for the summer months, and see what works good. Now get out there and make them monies

Coming from the direct response side of the industry, expect a big slow down in any products that are driven by the advertising of the product (slap chop, etc).

We usually see a 25-50% drop off in volume when the advertiser pulls back on their spend in the summer.

However, as an affiliate you might not see the drop, since your sales are directly related to your advertising and not what the product owner does. However, you could need to find some new channels to market through.

I actually agree. I work in a bunch of areas and over the course of many years overall traffic drops in the summer pretty significantly. Even diet blows, comparatively speaking.

I actually had access to an Alexa top 150 site stats a few years ago and they showed a big ass drop from mid June till sept.

I use the summer to gear up. Still make sales, just not as many. The weekends really, really suck. In diet (before trials), i was doing a steady 100 orders a day for one product weekdays and literally around 15-25 on weekends....Of course, people had money to go away on vacation back then lol

You're only going to notice a change in business if you have a "business as usual" attitude.
Change product offeers with the season...

You think clothing retailers would survive if they were selling Parkas in the middle of Summer?

Yes, I understand.

I should have been more specific with this thread. Let me try this again.

Those of you who have marketed grants and biz opps, what kind of a drop off (if any) have you noticed in the summer months?

If your smart you can make more in the summer. If your Amit Metah or you take PPC classroom you can expect a 50% drop. He even said this on his blog that gets way lower conversions in the summer. His solution is to lower bids and take a summer long vacation.
