Last 2 week I promoted one merchant from UK affiliate network. I had read merchant policy:

- no ppc to promote
- no incentive website

Commission $ 1.00 per lead - visitors must register and click the confirmation link send to their email. Double opt-in.

So I build a website, throw some free articles relating to merchant product and put merchant affiliate links at the bottom of the articles. Just to avoid Google adword quality issue.

Then I promote my website using Adwords. I think i'm not break merchant ppc rules because I'm using ppc to promote my website, not merchant website.

First day, I managed to get 100 leads. second day is up to 200 lead, then I leave it alone and went for one week holiday without internet access.

After long holiday, I check my email and received an email from my affiliate network stating that, I'd been suspended from this merchant and all commission from this merchant has been forfeited.

Reasons:

- All lead are non quality because they never come back after they register
- Merchant suspected I promoted in an incentive website

Within last week, I managed to get almost 700 lead for 4 days before I got suspended. Now all are gone cause this merchant has suspend my account.

I just email my UK affiliate network AM about this and explain to them that my website is not incentive website and I cannot do anything if all lead is not quality. My job is to bring traffic to merchant website and get paid when visitors register with merchant website. All lead are legit because they had click the confirmation link send to their email. Until now, I never receive any respond yet.

My question to this problem is, can merchant cancel your account and forfeit your earning if your lead is non quality?

I just wait until this UK affiliate network respond to my email. If nothing happen, I will tell which UK affiliate network and which merchant that I promoted, so all of you can take note.

All this thing can be happen in affiliate marketing, but I'm cool cause I treat affiliate marketing as a business. Sometime you had profit, and sometime you loss.

Cheers...

The quality must have been pretty bad for them to suspend and withhold payment. You don't have to mention the name of the network, but I'm pretty sure that their goal isn't to f**k you out of $700. If you sent 80-85% good quality they'd probably continue to work with you and simply charge some of the leads back.

It was also kind of silly to keep your campaigns running while on vacation for a week without Internet access.

What to do, I'm leaving in third world country where internet access is not fully implemented in rural area.

Than is very dangerous to promote pay per lead program, when the lead is not quality, vendors can forfeit your earning. They already got visitors email and can contact them anytime. And we, the one who bring traffic and lead to them, get nothing..

Anyway, I.m still love affiliate marketing...all of this will improve my affiliate marketing knowledge..

By your logic if I build a landing page with some informational articles & some affiliate links and promote via PPC, I'm promoting the "informational article site" and not the affiliate links that just happen to be there.

Sounds like the PPC advertising against the terms might have something to do with your situation to me.

I was suspended because of non quality leads, not about the ppc term.
