So I've been looking for a solution to easily give clients a dynamic estimated turn around time for simple projects before they place an order without having to send me an email to find out what the current TAT is. My initial reasoning is that it saves both them and me time. I'm sure this can be done with PHP or one of any of a hundred different programming languages but since I'm a total nOOb when it comes to such matters I went looking for a solution.
Anyway, I still haven't found what I was looking for, but I did come across this nifty little project status plugin Project Status Plugin for WordPress | Psychology of Web Design | 3.7 Blog.
I haven't tested it out yet, but basically it looks like it works as a client portal with the ability to give all sorts of details about the project, what stage it's in and other things. I currently use a client portal for this type of stuff, but for service providers running on wordpress sites this might be an easy way to have a client portal without having to set up another database or use other non-wordpress solutions.
I don't know if I'll end up using this in any way, but I thought some of you guys might find it useful.
