I've got around 10 domains that are all on shared hosting and I will be switching over to a VPS pretty soon. I've got a couple of questions though and was hoping you guys may be able to help me out. I'd post tits, but I'm at the office right now.

I guess my first question is this:

When I switch over to a VPS, my domain will have a new ip address. How does this reflect with Goog? I don't want my sites to drop off the radar...and if they do, is it just a short term thing?

The other question is, should I have 1 IP per domain for SEO purposes? Or is that just over the top?

I've got more questions, but I gotta get the hell out of this office first. Will post boobs later too!

Gracias!

Wouldn't worry too much about having 1 IP per website unless you have multiple in the same niche and link between them. Then using individual has it's benefits but that is also debatable.

Some people have said that changes like IP, nameservers, and owner can cause a temporary drop in rankings. But I've never had any drop when switching servers.

You don't need to worry about keeping all your sites on their own IPs. But if you're interlinking you won't get as much link juice when the same IP links to itself. If you have a money site and a bunch of smaller sites built to link to the money site then I'd put them on their own IPs.

Don't know if you have decided on a VPS provider yet but I would recommend Wired tree.
