I just had this idea, and theres probably a million reasons why this wouldn't work but i want to throw it out there anyway.
As we all know operating a business has great tax benefits, our government tax system is set up to benefit small business.
But how great would it be if personal taxes were set up the same as business taxes.
For example, most middle to lower class people live paycheck to paycheck, just to pay their damn bills. Stupid shit like electic, hot water, morgate, etc...
These should all be a write off when it comes time for tax season. This way the middle class would have more cash that they could save, or spend on items they want like TVs, Cars, Vacations, etc...
Basically for personal taxes you would have two categories, stuff you need to spend money on (house, bills, etc..) and stuff you want to spend money one (tvs, cell phones, etc...)
Tax people on the money they pay for goods and services they want, and don't tax them for stupid things they need in order to survive.
Like i said there are millions ways to exploit this at the time, but i think the overall concept is cool and would be awesome if things worked this way.
The reason I even thought of this was because i got a flat tire yesterday and just had to pay $140 for a new one. It sucks i had to cough up $140 for a new damn tire, but i needed it, i literally wouldn't be able to drive and go places i needed to go without it. IMO i should be able to label that as a tax write off, same for gas, groceries, all that bullshit.
what do you guys think? do you agree, or am i just crazy for thinking like this?
