Plus, you know that for every story like this there are hundreds more, probably far worse, that we'll never even hear about.

Hate to say this, but rescuing her was a waste of time.

As stated in the article, there's no law enforcement in indonesia, so if you take something away from them, they will just go and steal another and do the same with it.

The only sensible way to have dealt with this was to castrate the men involved, give them *some* sort of deterrent.

These would be humans at work. I don't understand the significance of Indonesia's economic system.

Anyways, according to this Indonesia ranks 115 in economic freedom. Canada is 6th for comparison.

According to the article it looks like the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation would be most responsible for the rescue.
