This is an absolutely insane race.

You can go ride it (as in general public) when it's not the race or practice (it's two weeks long so you'll get your race). Disclaimer: You'll likely suffer an injury or death though if you don't have you shit together.

I am a speed addict and race regularly, but I was a passenger at Pikes Peak Hill Climb practice last year and it really made me uncomfortable. The risk some of these guys take is incomprehensible. Riding Isle of Man full bore on a bike is just insane.

no doubt. i've had a few motorcyles, run shifter karts, skydived, bungeejumped, done gainers off 80 foot cliffs... but just watching that vid was 6 minutes of severe pucker for me. wow.
 
Came across this bit of POV footage of Subaru driver Mark Higgins doing an entire lap of the Isle of Man TT course. Average speed is 117.5 mph and he hits 160 mph in a lot of places. Completes the 37.5 mile course in 19m 15s.
