Well in the spirit of the journals I've been reading, I felt like it would be a good tool to also use to track my progress through this new venture. I'm currently in the process of running my first campaign. I guess it could be worse but this is where I'm at after two days:

Clicks: 52
Impressions: 11,539
CTR 0.45%

Campaign wise I'm making more money than I'm spending. Though, that's not counting the money I've spent on tools, etc. Spent a little to figure out what I was doing wrong. I'm using MediaTrust as my affiliate and I have an AM who has been quite helpful thus far. I was rejected by A4D and Neverblue so far. I put in calls with both of them and left voice mails. I'll call them once a day until someone calls me back. I'm currently going with 2 PoF's though only one has actually returned any results. Considering shutting the other one down. If anyone has any advice for me. I would be very appreciative. I've read the other journals here and a ton of other literature in regards to this market. It's help out quite a bit but I have feeling there is always plenty more to learn and to understand.

Fixed costs are fixed costs, get in the black asap. Try to get a live AM on the phone, I never had any problems getting accepted into any network. Use a @yourdomain email, say I do ppc seo etc looking to increase my offers.

Thanks. Going to make another push on Monday and attempt to get on board with A4D and Neverblue. This is how the campaign is looking currently:

Clicks: 108
Impressions: 21,769
CTR 0.50%

I'm slowly increasing my profits. The campaign is currently in the black in regards to the actual campaign. This is not including the other things I purchased FOR the campaign. Tools, the site, etc. Slow and easy wins the race....I hope.

It's early on a Sunday morning and I'm trying to get some work done before my three year old starts making me focus solely on her.

Contemplating setting up a new landing page and might possibly purchase one from Theme Forest. Though I'm reluctant to do so as this will just push me that much further in the red for the whole project. I'm liking the results I'm getting with my PoF on the PPC.

I'm thinking about possibly switching over to one of the CPA offers or maybe running both the PPC and CPA side in side.

Maybe this isn't the smart thing to do but I refuse to bid higher on my keywords than I will get paid for on the click. The returns on the CPA are very nice but how difficult is it to get someone to actually go through the sign-up process?

I need to get my hands on more literature. Think I'm going to take a trip down to Barnes and Noble today and see what I can find.

Are you able to share with us your spend vs ROI?

> CTR 0.50%

Isn't that quite high for PoF? Are you targeting very narrowly?
Also, how many concurrent ads are you running?

Thanks for any extra info you can share.

> Think I'm going to take a trip down to Barnes and Noble today

Huh? What can find there that you couldn't find for free on this interwebz thingy?

I'm not quite certain what people share and what they do not. It seems like people take an ultra paranoid type stance on these forums and I'm guessing that's due to the competition being so fierce, etc. Though, me being an ultra n00b - I'll gladly provide any information I can to see about getting myself going in the right direction.

Please don't laugh me off the forums and keep in mind I am taking a cautious approach towards this new venture. Trying to figure things out before I dump loads of money, etc.

I've earned 17.00. The PPC campaign I'm running is for one ad only currently and it has a EPC of $00.50 and a network EPC of $00.68. Though, I'm not certain how to get that Network EPC to start rolling in. I have my monthly spending allowance for the campaign set at $50.00 with the PoF and have spent $14.94 as of this post.

My stats are:
Clicks: 109
Impressions: 22,926
CTR: 0.48%

This is for one ad only that I've set up. I'm not certain if I should setup another ad with the same vertical and just use different keywords or not.

I'm also curious if I should use multiple PoF's.

Good point. The less money I spend the more I have in the bank.

> don't laugh me off the forums

I think the only reason you'd be laughed at in the noob section would be
for not trying anything in the first place. The fact that you're +ROI is great.

Thanks for the additional info.

No problem. Do you have any suggestions on how I can increase my revenue, etc? Should I use the same campaign and throw in some more ads? Should I use multiple PoFs? I'm kind of fumbling about here.

Start of a new week and it's time to get to work.

Today I'm going to try to get on board with some more affiliates. Going to call A4D and Neverblue, I'm also going to sign up with some new ones I've recently read about on these forums.

I'm going to remodel my landing page today. Hopefully I can get on board with some more affiliates today.

You seemed to have hit a winner on your first try,
that's a pretty good CTR for pof, I'd definitely try more images/adCopy within the demographic you're currently in ... when you get a good set of images that are producing high ctr, i'd then move on to improving your landing page.

Thanks. Here is an update for how it is looking today:

Clicks: 142
Impressions: 29,785
CTR: .48%

The campaign is still in the black and it is constantly hovering around the 00.50% mark. I've read a few different things on CTR and it seems like I need to try and get it to 1 - 4%.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to scale it and have not really gotten any solid answers on that.

I'm still trying to get involved with Neverblue and A4D. Going to make some more phone calls today and see what happens. I also found some other affiliates and have applied with them as well. Going to try and get those eggs in as many baskets as possible.

I'm interested in trying to find a solid micro niche with a decent EPC. I'm also curious as to what the normal EPC is for PPC campaigns?

Get back to the officer tomorrow after a long weekend and won't have as much time to dedicate to this project. Must get as much done as I possibly can today.

Most people will say it "varies". But, you should know that the EPC you're getting (0.50?) is on the higher side. As kazu said above make moar ads. Try to see if you can use similar targetting on facebook as well.

Well. It's been roughly a week since I started this campaign and here are my stats:

Clicks: 305
Impressions: 50,431
CTR: .60%

I am pulling these statistics from the platform I'm using to promote my ads. The data is a bit different than what I'm seeing on the network side that I'm running the campaign with. I'm very happy with the ROI% right now, but I contacted my AM to see what his thoughts were on the project and he told me the data was corrupted. Saying that he will authorize me another 500 clicks with this campaign before we need to look at something else.

I'm not exactly sure what that is all about? Is that something happens often in this game? The way I'm running the campaign is:

Text Ad (Microsoft AdCenter) ---->

Landing Page (where they need to click so I am given the credit) ------>

Offer Page

Now I can't really be blamed because the offer page is sub-par correct? I'm doing my part by driving the traffic there and in turn am being rewarded for that. Regardless, the AM did say he would make sure I got my money but it seemed like they might be taking down this offer before long.

I've been reading more documentation on different CPA strategies and how to think outside the box. I'm running some new campaigns with Neverblue and have been thrilled with them. My AM (Emily) has been quite helpful and their whole team nothing but pleasant to work with. I'll report back with statistics from my CPA campaigns I'm doing with NB.

Got signed up with another solid affiliate today and have nice selection of verticals to select from. In the process of attempting a couple of different tactics in attempt to produce some decent numbers from these CPA's I am working with. One thing I've really start realizing as of late that you must think outside the box and constantly be thinking of another method to push your adverts. Going to continue to providing information to this thread and we'll see where it takes me.
