On with the show:
A) if Google bans a site -- say its a .info I'm thinking of getting BHted to shit -- will that site still show up on google if its completely typed in?
B) Will that affect the other sites .com, .org, etc.? -- if they have a lot of different content and weren't BH?
C) How long till a competitor rats me out -- it will be in a competitive niche?

1) if you're banned, you're deindexed, so no
2) like if you have domain.info and it gets deindexed, would that hurt domain.com? if that's the case...no

you don't have to get banned though, you can also get a penalty. many sites get like -30 or so (in as they wont show up earliest before 3rd page). that is from algorithms though, not someone ratting on you (presumably).
