It was a music video shoot in New Orleans for "God Bless Amerika".
Stepping on the flag wasn't a planned part of the video. It was just supposed to drop behind him to reveal the people in the background.
This. It's beautiful manipulation really, you can transform what is considered in a lot of countries to be a fairly minor gesture of aggression (burning a flag) into this huge gesture, and you suddenly have an army of people willing to kill them.
More people see it as a no talent iddiot who is pretty rich and would only achieve this success in Merika, then he stomps on the flag.....
