One of my site ranks below 100,000 in alex, huge amount of traffic everyday, and TLA is selling my text link at $15 per month per link.

They sold 3 last month, and I got my payout....

um.. $10 total.

WTF? I have sent them tons of emails and have not received any.

Well, i'm gonna remove their codes and they can kiss my ass.

:angryfire: Daylight robbers.

I kinda don't understand why you'd let a service like TLA set your prices for you when you can get way more direct selling.

It's not like they provide a service that's so great it warrants the huge cut they take.

They don't exactly send 20 people willing to advertise on your site when you sign up. You're lucky to get 2 or 3 these days. And that is EXACTLY why they charge so little for the links. To attract more people looking for cheap links. It makes them look like they're a great service with tons of buyers when they're really just underselling your ad space to attract bottom feeders.

Drop them quickly.

Yea, I was really surprised to see how big of a cut they take. It's not worth it, in my opinion.

Does anybody have any better recommendations for managing text link inventory? I don't want to have to handle billing individual clients or keeping track of who bought what when for how long, but I'd like to be able to set a better price.

Also, why drop TLA, even if they suck? Why not just show them AND other text links all together?

those must have been partial month payouts b/c i believe they pay you 50% of what they take in.

it really comes down to time management - if you have the time to market and sell links yourself, or course you'll do better. for me i'd rather post their code of my site and forget about it except to pick up checks in the mailbox :)

You might be interested in linkworth.com - sell text links at a price you set, (you can vary this and affect only new advertisers, so can play with the pricing to find the optimum) and their cut is not OTT at all.

Adult + Mainstream are welcome there.
