It used to be easy. One title, one torrent available. No confusion about which one to download. Now there's a million different versions, xvid, brrip, dvdr, the hungarian subtitles version, etc. It's fucking confusing. I have a regular Toshiba DVD player and a very regular Toshiba TV with 16:9 aspect ratio. I'm a simple man. All I want is download, burn the shit and watch. I don't want to spend 7 hours figuring out some video conversion shit, and downloading 5 different pieces of software to convert the shit to the format I need (yes, happened before, was no fun).

Now what alphabet soup abbreviation(s) do I look for in the title of the torrent?

If you just want the quickest shit that looks decent on a mediocre TV then just look for a 700-800mb file that says it's a DVD rip. Then use ConvertXtoDVD to handle the rest.

seconding eztv.it

they have a huuuuuuuuuuuuge selection of any tv show on the planet

if ou still insist on torrents though.... go for formats such as

eztv.it's shows ARE torrents.

Best site for TV on the net

For about €45 you can get a multi region, multi format Pioneer DVD player that will play just about anything you stick in it. Highly recommended. Alternatively get a PC based entertainment system, or Xbox, and network it and play whatever you download directly off it.

Fatbat stole my post.

So, what he said.

The new xbox update pretty much lest you watch any file type from your PC with out all the annoying stuttering you used to get. They have really improved the Media Player.

Get an Xbox 360 (~200$) + a flash drive. Play all the movies you want without having to burn them on a dvd. You can even stream files from your pc with windows media center if you have a good enough internet connection. Best multimedia center ever.

Or if you aren't a gamer, pick up something like the Asus Revo or anything with a HDMI port really.

aren't torrents pretty 'hot boy' these days? meaning like your ISP is working with authorities to help enforce laws?

i read somewhere that if you're detected DL'ing torrents that your ISP can send you legal shit about torrents, reduce your bandwidth and pretty much give your shit up to authorities.

how the fuck do people DL music these days? torrent the album and un-check the songs you don't want?

Any pro-tips for DL'ing music so i can merk it in the gym? same playlist for ever, no data plan on phone.

as for playing the torrents themselves, i'd just hook up your laptop/desktop to your tv? or make a dedi for media?

Depends where you live but most of the time they won't touch you if you're not the original uploder. Getting a letter from them in the mail probably has the same chances as winning the lottery and even if you do get some kind of threat they will most likely never sue you since they have little to no proof you have done anything wrong. Most of the time movie companies try to milk out a couple hundred bucks out of people by threatening to sue but they never do.

Shortly after oink shut down and my music HDD died I tended to just stream music (youtube/spotify) due to the lack of good sources for dl'ing. what.cd changed the game for me again, that place literally has everything (more than iTunes I reckon). Find/beg/steal a what.cd invite, very worth the hassle. I now have a dedicated PC for storing/sharing my epic hiphop library with my pc/phone/brother.

If you can't get a what.cd invite I know of a guy selling waffles.fm invites for $5/10, not as good as what but still good if your wanting to torrent music - give me a shout and I'll pass on his details if you want.

If you don't care so much about the quality of tracks then just download from youtube - its what most people seem to do these days.
