That's actually a good thing. What I didnt like was the

"duplicate account" detected because another user has this IP. This has been logged.

The other part im not really sure about is this rule

2. We allow a wide variety of torrent clients on our site, whichever one you decide to use you MUST make sure dht, pex and lpd are turned off, failure to do this may result in you being banned.

Seems like tracking your activity is a big deal with these guys.

EDIT: Oh and btw you must wait 7 hours to download your first torrent. Fuck these guys

Most private trackers want you to have dht peer exchange and lpd turned off. Its not about tracking you, its about not letting non-members download the files that you have downloaded from that tracker.

The wait times are only for a short time, once you get over the wait time period there is no more restriction.

What makes torrentleech better than the other similar sites?

Larger site, faster speeds on older torrent usually. Torrentleech is one of the bigger "private" trackers, I would not be shocked to hear that anti-piracy organizations are not members as well to catch pirates.

Ok so here's a question. Lets say SWIM downloaded the latest episode of a popular sunday night show on premium cable. The show has hundreds of leachers and seeders. This SWIM wants to keep a good share ratio, so has left it seeding for the last 4 days. This SWIM has a joke of a ratio of <.10 after that much time. Yet downloading that same episode on a different tracker and there is a share ratio of nearly 20.0. What gives?

Many different factors. The way torrents work, faster connections get priority. Also if no one downloaded from site 1 after you did, then your ratio wont change.

Hmm, the first time I opened popcorn time I said to myself, "awesome. I'll never have to think about torrents again."

Flixtor and many other forks have constantly improved upon popcorn time's limitations.

Why are you guys still trying to start fire by banging rocks together?? For cracked video games or something non video?

Because local storage >then streaming when the internet doesn't work. (Gov kill switch, shitty ISP , bad weather, video gets pulled, ect ect.

Basically this. Storage is cheap as chips, just as well to download and watch from my local NAS. I normally use torrents to get shows that have just aired in the US and I'd otherwise have to wait 6 months or so to get in the UK.
Parks & Rec is a good example. Airs in the US, next day it's on download sites.
