OK so when I was starting out I made a nubs mistake and grabbed a domain name with a registered trademark in it. Lets say my niche was dog food and I bought buypedigree.com

I set up a site, made some backlinks, did some SEO and left it running for a few months while I worked on other projects. Now I want to start driving in PPC traffic, but obvious I'll get G-Slapped.

There's been a steady stream of traffic the last few months (nothing major) and its ranking well on G/Bing for keywords, but not converting.

So what should I do ?

1. Register another domain (say, dogfoodbuyersguide.com), do some blog/copy/content as a lander, referals to buypedigree.com, then PPC to dogfoodbuyersguide.com

2. Cut my losses and pedal the domain on flippa ?

Get a decent non-trademarked domain, make it the main, redirect the trademarked domain directly or via a landing/squeeze page to the new main. When the TM domain is up, let it go. The "bad faith" provisions of the UDRP are pretty well met by the act of attempting to sell the domain.

Make sure you use a 301 to keep most of your link juice if you go the redirect route.
