One of the main reasons I'm working on building a business online is so I can travel extensively. With my idea of travel however I'll probably have very little internet access for a couple of weeks at a time.

I've been brainstorming some ideas of ways to make traveling whilst running a business easier and to make sure it does keel over as soon as I leave it alone.

I'd love to hear some opinions/advice on how to travel whilst running a business. :-)

I don't think having an iPhone would allow you to truely travel though. If you're always connected to the internet it'll hinder experiencing other cultures etc.

(I probably should've explained that I mean travel as in seeing the world, rather than just going to conferences etc)

I really think the only way is if you generate your income via SEO. There is no way you can run PPC campaigns and not check how things are going every day. If your server is down or an offer gets pulled and you are paying for clicks you could lose 1000's of dollars.

Do SEO and you'll be fine checking everything once a week.

Is that a Vaio P Series? I was on a friends a few weeks ago and it was mind-numbingly slow.

Yeah, but it's a heck of a lot faster than an Acer One I think. And the resolution is actually nearly 4 times the area at 1600 x 768 over 800 x 400.

I'd go for something with more girth and oomph myself, but if you are looking at netbooks, that's probably one of the better ones.

Back to DP please.

That's the beauty of making your own products and setting daily PPC budgets ;)

The offer can't get pulled and any financial loss if something goes wrong should be minimal compared to the possible experiences I'll have when away from the computer. Anyways, I don't believe I've had any downtime on my server since moving to softlayer.com

But still, SEO is a big focus for my sites. :-)

'making your own products' - as in what? crappy ebooks?

Its easy - generate enough money so you can live for whatever specified period you require without internet access. If you're making 6 figures a month with PPC you can afford to stop your campaigns for 2 weeks.

Well, thats what i would do anyway :D

Uhhh... I would rather hire and train someone to babysit the campaigns and servers, rather than miss out on 6 figs/2 of income.

Don't get all high and mighty. You're probably promoting crappy CPA offers that rely on the stupidity of visitors so you're no saint.

I don't want to do that so I prefer to make niche information products (nothing to do with business, or making money online etc).

Anyways, I can't just turn off my money for 2 months, because the plan is to travel for a lot longer than 2 months. :-)

Scale down your PPC, set hard limits. Run SEO sites that autosell your digital products or your affiliate offers. iPhone the fuck out of things. You can kick back on a beach for months doing this.

Yeah, the band emoticon is just ghey. "Slappin' da bassssss..."
