Is this yours? Perhaps you saw me in another thread bitching about all the good Chrome domains being taken. lol

Its me... thanks for outing me. I was actually waiting for tomorrow to do a Tutorial/Case Study on the site. I was debating whether or not to do it... guess now I'll just do it.

I thought about doing this when Google Chrome was first announced but I've already got my hands full so I dropped ChromeForum/s out of my NameCheap basket and moved on. I decided a few hours later to register a backup (it was gone) and then saw your post the next morning. I was curious if I had gotten a domain you had searched for.

In the end I decided the upside potential was pretty damn high compared to the risk of losing $10 or so and a day of work. Looks like its going to work out pretty well... I'm just focused on making it a valuable resource.

Sorry for outing you, I guess I could have just sent a PM (but I didn't really think you were trying to keep quiet judging from all the digg posts, lol).

But seriously, congrats on this... I've already seen about a half dozen other chrome forums and yours is the only one with members. You've really hit gold with this one...

And dammit, lol... I actually tried "chromespot.com" this afternoon after deciding to try and find a good domain one last time.

Well at least someone from WF got it going first. :thumbsup:
 
Yeah I definitely wasn't trying to "keep quiet" so no harm on outing me. Google Chrome is an inherently geeky subject and hate to tell you but a lot of people here are.... go figure. It can only help.

I worked hard to build the momentum and I'm hoping it will sustain but not resting on my laurels. Lots of hard work ahead and I'm open to incite from folks here.

I also won't turn down your links and stuff on blogposts and other forums if you happen to be talking about Google Chrome. Oh, yeah.... "Google Chrome" would be good anchor text hehe.

I'm not sure when the risk will pay off but I'm not looking to add advertising to the site in the immediate future. More focused on building a solid community and great resource.

Thanks for the kind words though, dude. Stay tuned for my post tomorrow about the process and how it went down.
 
Well done on the quick thinking for the site. Did most of your members come from Digg?

If Google launches a payout for refered downloads of Chrome (like they did for firefox) you could make some nice bank.
