Twitter troll accounts for fun and profit

I came across a couple of twitter accounts which look very unnatural. Appears to be a couple of hip sounding tweenies tweeting catchy one liners and oozing promiscuity. They have about 30k followers each. They speak boldaciously and both appear to be created by the same person. Or they could be. So similar in tweet comments and attitude.

http://twitter(dawt)com/#!/LittleHarmonica/

They also seem to be linked to another website which may be part of the puzzle, http://favstar(dawt)fm/users/LittleHarmonica

Two more slick talking girls with favstar linkbacks too: http://twitter(dawt)com/#!/Acoyle33 and http://twitter(dawt)com/#!/StephStartsOver

All of them tweet these catchy oneliners such as "You say whore, I say people person." and "Spank me once, shame on you. Spank me twice, now we're getting somewhere." and "If you don't stop calling me a whore, I'll come over and fuck your boyfriend" and "Don't tell me what to do! Unless I'm on my knees" so I suspect that's why they have 30k followers each. There's also a guy as part of the webwork who has a connection to favstar like the other two girls : http://twitter(dawt)com/#!/edheenan but he only has 3k followers, presumably because he's just a manwhore(nice pun there, Mr Ed).

Anyway my question is what the fuck is going on? They don't seem to be promoting anything that I can see except for favstar.fm but that makes no sense because favstar is pretty big. Could these pretty faces be the front end of a large webwork that provides SEO juice to some moneysite and these chicks are just the recruiting side of the webwork which is used to tweet URLs to a select section of the following twitterers? At some point in the future maybe? When I first came across these I was reminded of the mesh of interlinked web 2.0 properties that some people create on places like blogspot, tumblr, ezinearticles and such that have a small article with a linkback to a moneysite and another link to a web 2.0 in the same mesh. Except that here there is no moneysite unless favstor actually is the moneysite rather than just another part of the web 2.0 mesh?

Yes I know the accounts "look real" durrr but I sense something synthetic about them. They all appear to be clones of each other. NONE of them has a facebook page, or myspace page. All of them are linked with favstar.fm though without fail. I mean, what are the chances that a bunch of tweeters all have favstar.fm accounts they link to but none have facebooks, last.fm or any other site.

Even if they're legit they still COULD be faked and I was wondering whether there's potential behind creating dozens and dozens of trolling personas except you wouldn't use them to taunt people but you'd harness them for SEO value perhaps?

If only there were some website where people were selling tweets and followers, for say, $5. Durr indeed.

Okay....and...can you tell whether she's selling her tweets? There's no outbound links or referrals.

OP, Jcash is talking about fiverr.com. He similarly feels that there is an element of dis-ingenuity in the accounts and that possibly the followers may be fake as well.

Thank you for taking the time to read my comment. I hope you have a wonderful night.

Upon my investigation, I simply think they are copypasta attention whores. Nickywithissues is over 2 years old.

Ahh ok it's just that I've brought this topic up with people before and hit a brick wall of denial so the sarcasm since the 2nd post went totally over my head.

But when I look at this I can't stop myself overthinking. It's just a feel that potentially it's part of something much larger. Similar to the work metalhead does with mininets perhaps. It got me thinking in that direction rather than tweet spamming for some reason.

I'm inclined to feel the same way. Their sexual humor seems forced and unnaturally vapid for some reason. Whereas there is a real human using the account (judging from the replies the accounts make to other twitter users), it could definitely be all just one person.

I've searched all around the internet and I can't find shit about jack squat except that the afformentioned accounts are simply big attention whores. Clearly the sensual nature of their tweets is meant to attract a large male audience.

Here, check this out:

RT @itsokayimpretty: I think multiple orgasms are God’s way of saying, “Sorry for the painful childbirth & monthly - Twitter

This has been going on for years apparently and it seems like the now extinct itsokayimpretty twitter account was banned. If indeed it's a huge monetization scheme, I'd say off the bat that the easiest way to do so would be to ewhore. I haven't personally tried this but I'm willing to bet $$$ that if you message them, you'll find something along those lines. I've heard of people selling tons of cam shows a day just acting trampy on twitter and waiting for the horndogs to message them. That's my feeling. Of course it could be something much more complex. I honestly don't know and I couldn't turn anything else up.
