I ran across his name in an old thread I was reading and it reminded me of a funny story.
As you may be able to tell I have/had close contacts with some technology people at a few networks and platforms, most notably, the blue one in canada and the orange one in florida.
Anyway, couple years ago, one of them was working out an acquisition of Prosper and the story is that wes and his crew were in the office for days and generally everybody felt that they were a bunch of assholes. (This is all before blusky).
And for some reason this contact I have decides to leak it to Cruz. I'm still not entirely convinced that it wasn't an official corporate strategy to do this to get it published. But why Cruz? Asshat.
Anyway, the funny part is that instead of saying a thing on his blog, he apparently starts calling everybody he knows at the network reporting the "spy." Apparently the mgmt that actually talked w/ cruz got the impression that he was that type of douche that runs his mouth so you think he knows things. Of course, they prob also patted him on his head and probably gave him some left over ASW swag.
All i know for certain is that the contact didn't get canned so that makes me all think that it was an official corporate strategy thing but either way, it wasn't exactly fucking wikileaks and cruz shit the bed.
