Anyone seen these new government E-Petitions? If a suggestion gets 100,000 signatures it will go to the House of Commons for serious debate. I think this is brand new so the votes should start picking up soon. Some of the rejected suggestions are funny. What would you guys suggest? I think this capital punishment law might be a biggie.

Currently popular...
Petition to retain the ban on Capital Punishment
Keep Formula 1 Free To Air in the UK
Restore Capital Punishment
Britain wants referendum to leave EU
Legalise cannabis
Hold a referendum on withdrawing from the EU
Absolute right to self-defence within ones home
Return of Hanging for Serious Crimes
Remove the ban on gay blood donation
End mass immigration

Petition to retain the ban on Capital Punishment - How can you retain something that's already been phased out?

Keep Formula 1 Free To Air in the UK - How is this the Government's business?

End mass immigration - lol

This makes me laugh. They did the same when they got in, and said they'd legalise any that got enough votes. Cannabis legalisation had the most by far, and now they've just pretended to forget about it.

Can't believe how many people have voted to bring back hanging?
what next? we cut the hands of people that steal loaves of bread.
fuck those stupid daily mail readers

I think because the BBC just sold the rights for half of the races to a private network, and some people think that the government can influence the BBC? Sheeples are damned if it actually is that way; also damned if it's not, but they want it to be (just so they can watch free races)...

I think these E-Petitions have only been up since Thursday morning and the site has been majorly struggling with the traffic. They're not doing a good job with the dupes.

Confused how the government can influence the F1 deal that already has a contract in place. The BBC are fuckers for choosing Wimbledon over F1, but have kinda accepted the fate for it. Some good F1 news here though Gerard...

Thanks for the link. + 1 on that.

I'm sure they probably can't, but who knows.

A petition like that would never fly here in the States where people think an Indy Car and an F1 car are the same. That's assuming they are even aware of single seaters to begin with (omg). My fellow countrymen think freakin baseball is a sport (omg).

I love Britian simply for the fact that auto racing is so acclaimed there. The first racing school I ever did was "The Jim Russell Britsh School of Motor Racing". And of course I read Autosport -- have for years.

Please don't mention NASCAR over here -- it's a travesty to what Grand Prix racing is about. Only recently has it gotten popular, and the drunken rednecks that populate the infields there only want to see cars crash -- the fuckin idiots!

Ryan, Button was lookin good last week btw!

Cheers
