Anyone here work with a virtual assistant? Did you hire a firm or a freelancer?

I've been hiring freelancers (to do repetitive link building) with mix results...the biggest problem wasn't the quality, but staying on a deadline and availability.

Freelancers.

I have a VA from the Philipines who doesn't have a full-time job in real-life - she's a freelance web designer. She works for me "almost full-time", just during hours she fixes herself.

Which is fine by me.

When it comes to outsourcing, Philipines FTW.

I remember a podcast I heard a few month ago, they were saying Filipinos were better because of their work culture vs indian workers. Indians tend to always want more, while the Filipinos were happy with what they have. Anyone else agree with this statement?

I'd love to hear some input from people that have hired successful VAs and tips on hiring VAs.
 
^ I agree.

And not forgetting the fact that Filipinos are much better at English, meaning they understand tasks more easily, and are able to do some basic writing if you require them to.
 
How much are you guys paying for filipino admins? I might test one, but she wants $7.75 which is a lot considering I've hired decent VAs in the US for $8/hr.


Any other sites good for hiring VAs? I've used elance, odesk, and rentacoder.
 
I have a full time Filipino worker who does most to all of my website and backlink and other stuff that i train them on. They are very hard workers,and save me crazy time. I used bestjobs.ph but those Irish owner banned all USA customer. But I found a work around. It is average out about $1.72 hour for the month... at this rate I should hire someone to plug into another system to work it for me...
