yeah I was just reading about this also. This is really bad business. Just this week I was searching through google trying to find forum software that would best fit my needs. This story definitely took vb out of the running.

hm, moral grounds? wtf? If we can cuss and put boobies on a forum and they don't shitcan Jon's license then the people they are shitcanning might need it!

Moral Grounds OR Against the Law.

They are covering their ass with the law or using it as an excuse atleast to revoke their license and cover their ass. I don't think VB gives a shit about morals personally only about their own ass - which is understandable.

Similar to like one person on digg had said, its like a car dealership saying sorry I cant sell you the car because your going to be using it to pick up hookers!

Well, while revoking licenses is a bad business move in most cases, I can understand why they wouldn't want their forum system, with links back to them, being used for child porn, even is only anime.
Was that the case? I haven't read the entire story.

I read that myself, but what the fuck is animated child porn? Young Jak doing Daxter in the ass? Sounds a little far fetched, I have not seen the content in question and if it was some sort of animation trying to relay a sense of child porn, to get perverts and petafiles all worked up, then fuck em for real I could give a shit less, I hope someone puts a slug in the webmasters head, but something tells me this wasnt the case. I could be wrong I often am.

Yes, there was animated child porn and abuse so much on the site that it got complaints to some US government agencies. Jelsoft pulled the license after hearing from these agencies from what I understand.

If I was Jellsoft, I would have done the same thing.

I read that they also were asked repeatedly to remove the kiddie porn anime but declined. Personally I agree with any action that makes the task of pedos forming communities, and Jelsoft did the right thing. I'm no expert but if someone gets off on animated porn is the next step the real thing???

The webmaster had his chances, and chose not to accept them. He'll no doubt port the database over to one of the free boards like SMF.

looks like they already got the license back:
