I need to do some business outside of Toronto once a month for about a year. Flights are like two hops and a pain in the ass from where I'm at. I figured out that it would actually take just as much time for me to drive up to Quebec and hop on the train for the rest of the trip. I'm thinking I can get most of my trip work done on the train legs back and forth to Quebec.

I've never used the rail system there. Anyone have experience with biz class? Wifi, connectivity, etc. All good? Any tips or any shitty details I should know about?

What about driving to the closest airport with a direct route? Or taking a short train there and flying out there.

Shortest flight would be out of Boston - 179 mile drive for me. The commuter terminal out of Logan blows - flights are always backed up or getting canceled. Commuting out of my local airports would hop me through Philly which can be sketchy or Detroit, which I've never traveled through much. Rather stick with my plan and drive 200 miles to Quebec and stock up on the duty free liquor at the border on my way home. Besides, I don't mind hitting up Quebec or Montreal for some action on either end of the trip either.

I wouldn't worry. Their system is solid. I wouldn't expect the world class service your going to get with business class on a plane, but the internet connection is perfectly fast and reliable - the schedule is always on time. I think they hype it up a lot, but I actually like the reality better - the hostess stays out of your way, the seats are comfy, coffee is decent.

I think their business class has some insanely cheap rates for frequent travelers. So if you're going to travel that route often, make sure you look up their discount deals. Other than Kingston, you'll pretty much travel with no stops until you hit the outskirts of TO, so it's pretty seamless travel to.

Thanks, just wanted to confirm this.

I almost went once from Ottawa to Kingston, but then ended up organizing some driving instead.

I realize this doesn't help at all though, sorry.

edit: though I do know someone who went in economy class once and they did say it was perfectly fine and the train was on time. This was when I was at university so she did get some work done too. I assume in business class it would be even better.
