More from the police blotter: Sagemore Apple Store hit by burglars

A well-organized 2 am robbery at the store netted the team a substantial haul of 23 MacBook Pro laptops, 14 iPhones and nine iPod touch handhelds.

Even though the store was staffed with a security guard, the thieves were able to time their run right after his rounds, and clear the merchandise from the store in 31 seconds flat. Security video of the theft is in the 2nd half of this post.

An inside job probably not as they just grabbed everything on display it looks like and never saw if they hit some kind of chache of products they had in the back. Next time you go into a mac store all the products will probably notice everything tethered to the table.

Ya why were the items not tethered to the table or at least to each other? I have a boring home desktop and it is tethered to my desk and the monitor.

I worked in a company and it was company policy that every computer was tethered. Every one no matter what the location or security.
