does anybody have any recommendations for a good free video lightbox script i can use with my site. i don't want it to look like a youtube or vimeo video, but just a simple focused video.

if you go to Video LightBox - Embed video to your website with beautiful Lightbox effect! and scroll down to where it says demo and click on the woman....that's the style i'm after. i could use this software, but they charge $50 for a corporate version and i'm pretty sure there is something comparable for free.

When I clicked the video it went to full screen with only a pause/play button in the middle of the screen.

You can set the parameters in JW Player (and most likely Flow Player and others) to do that.

Or is there something else about you're after?

yes, i like how it's simply just a play/pause button in the middle of the screen and you can't tell the load time. i also like that it's not an obvious youtube or vimeo video and i like the fact that the time isn't listed. we don't really care to list the time. there's also an expand button which works great.

i would definitely need something that doesn't require a watermark. do you know of any other lightbox video options?

Maybe you mixed up what I said, or I didn't say it clearly..... if you embed other popular sites video you can't remove their watermark - they control that - thats how they get promotion.

When you do your own original videos, you are in control of adding or not adding a watermark. That's if you "buy" the player, otherwise the company who made the player may have their watermark if they are allowing you to use it for free, again so they at least get some promotion out of it.

but to answer the question.... no

I used flow player to do a clients website, and just off of the free version I downloaded, my video didn't have any added water marks for it.

A combination of that, and some javascript/xhtml/css this could be coded fairly easily.

Might be something you would want to check into.
