I'm having a miserable time backing up 1 TB of data between a new server and this PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT VISTA desktop.

It takes 30 fucking minutes just to CALCULATE the time it's going to take to transfer. What a fucking joke. I honestly can't fucking believe I gave up working in Ubuntu for this miserable pile of menstrual waste called Vista.

Who here is using Vista SP1 and is the file transfer still fucked?
 


why did u give up ubuntu ?

I would never trade in ubuntu for trash ass vista. Just run VM or get crossover for super specialized windows aps

I was recruited for a job that required a LOT of Windows administration, so I switched because I telecommute. I'm missing Uby, trust me.
 
The time calculation isn't restricted to vista, I've seen delays like that on win2k, XP you name it. Although vista SP1 does fix A TON of shit so it's worth installing.

I've been running vista ultimate at home for a few months and I have had no problems, only thing I have run into is firefox3 doesn't work worth shit. Reverted back to firefox2.
 
UPDATE:

HOLY FUCK. Less than 30 mins to upgrade and the difference is astounding.

Took less than 2 mins to transfer 4 gigs (gigabit connection) where it took 30 mins just to calculate before.
 
For the last month I've been using Vista Server 2008 x64, but I think I'm going to switch back to Windows 2003. Too many programs crash far too often. Vista is a POS system when it comes to stability.
