I just finished having lunch with Dean Harris former head of marketing for Vonage and current head of marketing for KGB.com(awesome service btw). After hearing how shitty Vonage was doing after he left the company do to reasons i wont say here, it had me thinking does anyone even use Vonage anymore? I have also heard rumors of bankruptcy so I asked him about it and he double confirmed to me all of the alleged claims! Does anyone run PPC or CPA for Vonage and do well with it anymore?

I have a Vonage line and it sucks ass. I'd never recommend it to anyone.

My former company tried to force me to use Vonage, I said NO WAY. I'm in sales and their quality was shitty to say the least. I recommend and use Broadvoice.com for one of my lines, as it has great flat rate plans. Also, I am NOT an affiliate or aything of them, just been using them over 5 years without an issue.

I had Vonage several years ago when I was sharing an apartment. It was ok but kind of laggy; it would cause problems with talking over other people because of the delays.

Now I'm using the Comcast "triple play" and their VoIP stuff is pretty good; I can't tell the difference between it and a land line. I wouldn't recommend using it or any other 3rd party VoIP product on any network that has their own VoIP product because they will QoS every other provider into oblivion to keep their packets on time.

With enough broadband, Vonage is pretty pimp. I've had it for 3-4 years now and I really like it.

I use it and haven't had any issues. The only thing is, if I'm downloading stuff and it's coming down fast...I have to pause it when I'm going to use the phone. That kind of sucks, but it's to be expected on a non-commercial cable connection.

Literally - and I mean LITERALLY - it matters 100% where you are located, and the infrastructure in that location. I find with clients that utilize Vonage, larger cities/hubs/metropolises tend to perform similarly to a landline, but the proverbial 'boondocks' tend to see dropped calls, breaks in service, etc.

Vonage has never been a profitable company, is continuing to lose subscribers and it's now a penny stock (currently at .40c) a share. Odds aren't good it survives. It may get bought out best scenario.

There are too many good alternatives to Vonage... one being Skype.

I mean price wise, vonage seems cheap and i have seen the quality and its not horrible but i was just wondering if anyone does CPA for them because i use to back in the day and it was a converter, even though not a great one it still converted.....just wanted to see if it still was?

Fuck Vonage. Fuck Skype. Fuck ______.

Grandcentral (Now Google Voice) + Gizmo5 = FREE VOIP for life bitches.

Y'know, I remember reading a post you wrote sometime last year about your GC +Gizmo setup, and trying it for myself. It's a pain in the ass unless the number is in my GC address book. In fact, I think before I stopped doing it, GC made you enter any number you wanted to call into your address book.

I'd rather pay for skype and just be able to dial a fucking number when I want to make a call.

Nope. You log in to the site, click "call" and dial the number.

^scratch that^ ... You were right vinny lingo, the old GC forced you to save the number to your address book. I guess I never realized it, because everyone I wanted to call was already in my address book... I can see how that would irritate some people.

But now that GC has been upgraded to Google Voice, you don't have to save anything. Just dial and go...

True. I see that now. I haven't spent much time fussing with Google Voice yet. I moved and the number is no longer local. So it's really more of a novelty to me right now. But it's cool that they straightened out that nonsense.
