I'm looking to camouflage my vps ip. In otherwords, when someone does reverse lookup on my ip I don't want all my sites exposed. Obviously they will be exposed to a degree, but I'd like to throw a bunch of other sites or domains on the ip to help negate my actual sites. What are some cost effective ways of doing this? I know some people actually take on other people's sites but I don't want to deal with other people. I've heard some people just buy up cheap domains and what? throw up fake sites? redirect to other sites? Are there some other ideas out there?

However, I think what you're getting at is obfuscating the true domain(s) that are your money makers......in which case, Id suggest pointing a wack of tumblr blogs at it or something...

I had thought about this too but it appears that tumblr doesn't do that (they do the reverse, where you buy a domain and point the domain to tumblrs subdomain) But I'm sure that I've come across other subdomain type blogs that allow you to do your hosting...anyone know of any off the top of their head?

I just have a bunch of extra IPs on my server (in different blocks, same and different class Cs), and I spread the sites out randomly. Most LPs are on their own IP, spread out a few IPs from others, with personal sites, random sites, old/dead sites put on IPs in between, and with blocks of IPs not even assigned to the server (to give the illusion of the IPs not belonging to the same server.
