I recently bought a vps recently advertised here on WF. I know I probably shouldn't expect too much for what i'm paying but everytime i make a hit to one of my domains i seem to be lagged. I see the "waiting for yourdomain. com..." msg in the browser for about 4 seconds before it transfers to my domain. it seems an eternity sometimes.

I'd like to determine if it's my home internet connection or the hosting company. If i surf to Google i transfer instantly - that's why i'm inclined to think that its the host.

What service can i use to test my site and loading times?

i don't think i modified anything apart from the basic config. all i'm trying to run is wordpress.

wordpress works fine btw, so the speed is the only issue

What browser are you using, and what plugins do you have activated in said browser?

If anything download Chrome and install a fresh copy, and close everything else big on your computer, and fire it up, hit the site, see what happens.

Sometimes it's just your fucking browser that is taking forever to do what it needs to do.

Use Firefox and install the Firebug & YSlow extensions. That will tell you exactly how long each file takes.
