Press releases get a lot of lip service for backlinks and SEO value, but an effective press release is more than a loosely modified article full of self-promotion with a keyword link.

In fact, if your press release is full of self promotion and reads more like a sales page, you’re hurting yourself more than helping if you're seeking true credentials in your industry. And your writer isn’t very experienced with true PR writing – a specialized craft.

A true press release is a powerful piece of marketing designed to announce something noteworthy with the intent of alerting others and drawing a reaction from your target community.

An effective press release should deliver your message in a clear, concise way with relevant bias, but not with blatant overtones of pushy and self-congratulatory sales pitches. The true release is distributed not just through every free PR site a “company” charging $10 can find, but also to relevant media outlets, directly to niche bloggers and newsies in the industry who might be interested in what you have to say.

A powerful press release can generate genuine interest in what you have to report and can lead to follow-up interviews and mentions in print and online news sources.

You can pay someone to write you a glorified SEO article loosely called a press release and then submit it hoping for backlinks. Or you can have a true press release created that you would be proud to send on to your local newspapers, industry leaders in your niche and proudly feature on your own sites using your legitimate contact information.

This is the time of year to be planning new releases and campaigns for 2010, especially in the field of health care and self improvement – all those New Year’s Resolutions only last so long.

If you’re looking to take your websites and business to the next level, a professional press release can help.

From now through January 3, I’m offering press releases for only $50. These releases are normally $75.

Press releases are a specialized form of writing – far removed from articles, content or even copywriting. Before spending your money or staking your company's reputation on a poorly-written release, consider the real thing.

A handful of samples are available through my website (see sig) or on this press release writing site.

Press releases are $50 through January 3, 2010.

Need more than 1? Additional discounts may be available – PM or contact me through my site.

Thanks!

Just want to echo what Internet Author says, is absolutely true. No one buys into an over hyped sales pitch on a press release - in fact they ignore it. Big sales pitches are for sales pages, press releases are for everything she noted above.

I'll be hitting you up for some stuff in the next month. Thanks for offering this service!

cheers
