What did you think of it? Did you meet any new or old contacts that could help expand your business?

Sometimes it is hard to know exactly what you get out of these shows unless you sign some big deal on the spot. I find a lot of people go and just act important and then come home broke (usually newbz) and you never hear from them again. Being an AM I notice this a lot. :music07:

How did it go for you?

For me personally, this weeks show was well worthwhile. The turnout was decent (not great, which was expected based on the economy) and the vibe was positive.

When I was running Sales for a large data management company I found these shows increasingly focused on simply reconnecting with existing clients and less relevant for new business (we were already doing business with just about everyone).

Now that I'm consulting for a client that doesn't have such expanded reach, I found the show well worth while and generated real $$$ based on the conversations had in SF.

Kind of boring. Putting faces on some of the ppl i work with was pretty cool though.

^^

Yep. Without a doubt AdTech & Affiliate Summit are must attend events each year. I'm happy as long as I leave each show with one good opportunity or contact.

More so its always funny to hang out with other affiliates & industry people. Just shooting the shit with other affiliates is worth it alone.

It is what you make of it. And the true test of that will be in the coming weeks. Now is the time to put all the talk into action.

But yes - if you actually go to get something out of it you will. This is Ad:tech #9 or so in a row for me and all have been worth it.

It had it's boring times...But for the most part I grabbed a few good clients this time at ad:tech.

Always worth it. The exhibit hall was pretty useless do me since I met them all back in New York, just hanging with other affiliates was worth it. I mean you're only investing roughly $1k into the trip.

i didn't attend adtech sf, i'm in the process of moving, but i agree that you should go to these events. it's important to see all sides of the industry to help reinforce many of your own objectives. ASW lit a fire under my ass like you wouldn't believe.

Yeah it was worth it.. was able to meet and greet a lot of contacts as well as get a bunch of free lunches, dinners, coffees, and drinks at parties. Did a lot of touring the city as well.. definitely worth it!
