I was going to the personal section of craigslist in sacramento, I thought it was a small niche the men seeking women. I'd email them a short message and direct them to sacregister.com which was just a 302 redirect to amateurmatch.

I tried a small sample of 44 people and had 5 people sign up.

I was stoked so I did this for a few more cities, using a total of 8 different emails I sent out 188 emails, and got 9 clicks to the site and not a single lead.

What happened? Did someone report it as spam? I have no notice on my affiliate log in page.

Anyone else have this happen before?

LOL LOL LOL. I thought this was a PPC campaign. Its craigslist and I'm kinda laughing my ass off right now.

You've got a few main problems:

a) it's Craigslist

b) you're comparing stats after sending 44 and 188 emails? You can see if there's a problem after you've sent thousands. You haven't sent CLOSE to enough for relevant data.

lol this is so against craigslist TOS, ppl get sued for this shit man.

and it could also be your sponsor, when they don't convert to paying customers, they will cut you, and if they find you are spamming, they'll ban you.

Back when I was spamming myspace 4 years ago, I got a butt load of conversions off of epic cams, but epic found none of my shit were converting to real sales and banned me;(
