Caught the midnight show last night with the rest of the nerds. I read the novel a few months back after the trailer claimed it was "the most celebrated graphic novel of all time". I thought it was exaggerated bullshit until I read it. Amazing piece of literature, really.

As for the movie, I gotta say it was pretty good. It did the best job it could of picking its battles well, with regards to plot. I mean, there were just too many small sub-stories to have included them all in the motion picture, and even still, the movie tops almost 3 hours. But what was left was a movie that I think did the book very decent justice. Better than I would have imagined.

Won't spoil anything, except to say that the soundtrack was fucking EPIC!

As someone who didn't read the graphic novel I've got to be honest that the movie wasn't that good. There were a couple reasons for this, but one of the main ones is the girl (also in Heartbreak kid) is probably the WORST actress ever. Every scene she was in sucked, I just wanted to shoot myself everytime she was on the screen.

The guy that played rorschach was amazing.

The problem is what I got from it is we aren't SUPPOSED to like rorschach because he's a fucking psychopath. I think on some level we should identify with him, but he ended up being the only character I cared about because he was the only character on the screen that was convincing in his role.

Ridiculously good. The first 30 minutes were amazing.

I did not mind the change to the ending at all. I did not like the change of DM's line "Nothing ever ends" to it being Laurie's line.

I liked it better than I liked The Dark Knight.

I look forward to the 4 hour cut.

Just got back from seeing it...

Most of the movie was visually awesome, and the soundtrack kicked ass. But I thought it was waaayy too long, and extremely slow/boring at parts.

Thoroughly impressed, Rorschach was an incredible character. Pretty profound given when it was written.

Hahaha...

That just told me it is an excellent adaptation, because that is exactly how you feel about him in the books. He is a psycho and the "good" guy rolled into one.

Get the book, it really is worth it.

This is another overhyped movie like 300, Dark Knight and College Spring Break 2009

just got done seeing it, i liked the plot, i havent seen the graphic novel, some of the parts seemed to be just filler. but thats just me not really understanding the reasons for it i guess, not reading the graphic novel and all. over all it was good at best, music was ok, i personally would have changed it in a couple of places. ending did throw me for a little bit of a loop. but it was way to hyped up. 7/10

Just finished seeing it. Worst movie of the year fucking almost fell asleep within the first Hour. Directing good but shit story dragged on and on save your 12 dollars and spend it on Adwords.

me: "So... uh, yeah - that was a lot of blue penis. A regular sausage fest."
buddy: "uh, yep."

I also didn't read the graphic novel and I 100% agree. The 101 pointless sideplots probably had some great meaning in the novel but on screen it was boring as hell. It was the rorschach character that kept me in the theater. He was a bamf x10 and the prison scene was epic. "You don't understand. I'm not stuck in here with you. You're stuck in here with me!"
