what do you guys think about web applications?

sites like the google chrome webstore popping up and these next gen webapps like Grooveshark coming out get me thinking about the profitability of moving desktop experiences to the cloud.

as a developer too a lot of my own projects have been moving more toward this direction. iphone and mobile apps too.

there's also the question of the best way to monetize these too, hit em with one time fees app store style (99 cent) or go with monthly subscription.

the cloud is the future, anyone disagree?

call me crazy, but i'm betting heavy on this whole internet thing. if internet doesn't wind up working out, i might be out of a job.

I'll take that back - ignored the stations and just put in a few of my own favorites and they were there. Looks like it's building a play list in the bottom which is nice. Glad you said something or I'd have lived in ignorance.

Haha, I was gonna say: You aren't doing it right.

Grooveshark is my #1 app for listening to music between computers. Just from being an active user, every once in a while a little popup will appear that offers me a month of free VIP access. Although, the only thing I care about in the VIP feature list is the Last.fm scrobbling.
