So I'm having a large site built for me - and I was quite happy with my quote and the work being done up until a month ago. The company seemed well established, were great on the phone, helpful, and I was in contact with them daily for about 3 months. Great team- did more than expected for the money I paid...

...then I stopped hearing from the team- completely. No emails, no online chat, even the phone line was dead. I started getting very worried after trying to call around and not hearing anything. So I started digging into it a little more.

Seems the company is going out of business - or at least going out of business enough that they have closed down all of their satellite franchises. The project is in limbo and I am not sure what is going to happen at this point. I'm trying to get my hands on the code and files so I can use my other programming team I've been using for some other projects.

Anyway- the site is still up, and for all appearances seems like it is still taking orders... so I thought I'd give a heads up for people to avoid them.

WebShopCompany.com (I used a subsidiary NYCwebshop.com)

Owner- Patrick Pylypuik

A little background on good ol' Patrick- seems he was a former hocky player for the now recently defunct Toledo Storm. He was then president and general manager for the team.

Doing a search on Google brought some things up:

He seems to own a lot of stupid little 'consulting' firms, as well as a number of sites he promotes which have nothing but ads on them.

enicheholdings.com
fashioninterns.com
webprojectadvice.com
TicketMail.com
srsportsjobs.com
breakingintosports.com
frontdoorleads.com
a couple others..

Also seems he is selling some sites to 'pay off some high interest debt.'

Guess he reached to far and fell flat on his face, huh?

Hope I can get my hands on the code, etc. - I paid 50% upfront, but most of the site was finished, so I wouldn't mind if I could get everything. The stupid site should have been done 2-3 months ago though- now I have some competition in the niche- ugh.

Hiring programmers sucks moose cock. :repuke:
