weed legal in wa state?

Feds sent a letter to local municipal governments here in WA that states, basically, if you guys collect and spend any tax money from the sale and licensing of federal Schedule 1 substances (e.g. .weed) we willl treat it as criminal money-laundering, and any state/local gov't employees that are involved in the revenue collection/spending can be criminally prosecuted personally. Additionally, there is some language to the effect that RICO may apply to the bank accounts, which could involve freezing and seizure of ALL general tax revenues held in the accounts.

This fight isn't over, the Feds still have the upper-hand. No low-level city commissioner wants to risk being held criminally responsible for just spending weed-tax dollars to fix the pot-holes (!)) on a local city street.

Jesus. I wonder what their real motive is? To protect big pharma interests? To prevent hemp production for industrial purposes? To keep privatized prisons extremely profitable? So many possibilities.. :ugone2far:

To help justify to the masses the DEA, ATF, DOJ, FDA.
To keep cartel money flowing to the CIA.

If marijuana falls, so does every other substance outlawed. They can't have that. Personal responsibility is dangerous to a government. It breeds awareness of ones surroundings.

They should send back a copy of the U.S. Constitution with the 10th amendment highlighted...

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Yeap, but if the states are smart, they'll used the money on things that would tar any prosecuting attorney for going after.

Think, money for orphanages, mutilated soldiers, etc.

In the end, even if a crime is commited, you need a willing DA, judges and jury to convict. Good luck finding that if you are trying to convict an orphan protection advocate/wounded soldier recovery group who got money from a glaucomic granny who wanted to toke up.

I'm not saying the feds are incapable of doing such a monstrous transgression against everything that is right... but it would highlight their Hippocratic ways, and they try to keep those cases down to a minimum, least the mindless drones like hellblazer wake up. Although they know how unlikely that is.

Some good news hitting the wires now...

President Barack Obama says the federal government won’t go after recreational marijuana use in Washington state and Colorado, where voters have legalized it.

“… as it is, the federal government has a lot to do when it comes to criminal prosecutions,” Obama said. “It does not make sense, from a prioritization point of view, for us to focus on recreational drug users in a state that has already said that under state law, that’s legal.”
