Here's the scoop. I've made a website (foreign language, Europe, sports niche, even the URL name is a non-english term) 3 years ago out of my own interest for the topic..wrote all of the shit myself, all original content, had some visitors, I remember I would geek out when I saw 200 uniques in a day

Back in 2010 when I was most involved with the website I had 2000-3000 unique hits a month and eventually I stopped posting, due to my other obligations

I started that project out of my own interest, out of my own passion, but when I saw it moving slow and not gaining as much traction I wanted (or felt it deserve, sob sob) I simply stopped posting.

Now I went on its cpanel, out of pure boredom, to see if anyone still visits the site...and for the entire year of 2013. it gets 10,000 uniques every month.

I don't know why or how...even now in the middle of july it clocks 5000 uniques.

Any ideas how to make some chump change off this?

Setup up an email/newsletter sign up and start growing your customer base. Start creating new posts on the website, and reviving the "freshness factor. Send out once a week to the community, that signed up, emails about the latest post on your site. Do this for like 3 months. In that 3 month period research what products/services can directly related to your customer OR indirectly. After 3 months, you'll start sending out promotional emails on CPA product/service or whatever you can find to maximize ROi, since your list will be more than warmed up to you by now. Bank mofo, Bank!

Most people will just throw up some display ads on the site at this point and call it a day, if you're getting 5K daily, that's an option for quick cash, but you don't want to disturb the eco-system just yet. Figure out where they are coming from and why. Then start introducing sidebar ads, in-content ads, etc.

Let me know if you need anything, I can talk about this shit all day - PM Me if you want.

No no no, 10K a month

The problem is demographic (by the way, love your posts in enlightned section...you inspire and you quote the best movie of all time...)

The main demo of the site are euro kids from 17 to 21 into NBA basketball...I know for a fact it ain't like in the US with sneakers and standing in line and camping out...and also, I have to see where does that traffic comes from...cause it sure ain't "returning readers"...because it would show on the site's facebook page

It's still deadlocked at exact same amount of fans I had back when I stopped posting, still @ 400 fans LOL...if these visitors were real, I would expect at least couple of new likes...but that's my dumb logic, could be wrong, I don't know about this...

  • Team merchandise affiliate programs
  • Online betting (if allowed)
  • Ticket affiliate programs
  • 'Deal of the week' -> team merchandise on Amazon (maybe better than direct team merchandise affiliate programs as you will get a share of non-related shit ppl bought on Amazon)
  • Build a membership site with secrets / rumors / trivia and have people enter their email addresses to access the content -> then spam the fuck out of them
  • Hire somebody to create a few nice 'top 10' or 'best of' videos and post them on Youtube. If you have a few thousand people watching your niche videos every day, you'll rank pretty fast on YT which leads to more exposure and will bring you some video ad earnings (not sure how well YT pays nowadays).
  • Hire somebody to write an eBook on how to become better player (for example soccer if that's your niche), then sell it for $37. Don't forget to put in some affiliate links to muscle offers. You can get a good ebook written for $1.5-2k if you're a lazy fuck like me. Same shit can be done with video courses or membership sites with recurring billing.

Just a few ideas without knowing the niche.
