I've been running a successful colon cleanse campaign on google for the last few months. A friend of mine has a colon site that is top 10 for several major colon cleanse keywords, and I created a "review" on a sub-directory on his site as a landing page. Google seemed to love his site and things have been going swimmingly. Then everything stopped and now "ads dont run due to low quality score". Does this mean I've been slapped and can never use this site again?

I moved the landing page over to another directory (my own) to check and got the same "low quality score message." I'm concerned that this means that I can't use the original site again AND I need to create a new landing page as well even to use another domain.

Suggestions?

you've been slapped by google. its happening to everyone right now whos running diet / free trial offers. google doesn't like them. and yes you can use the page again just get a new domain name. but your account history is toast so if it cost you like 3$ to bid on keywords in the start. expect to pay that again to be on top.

your friend's ip is burnt too. be sure when you do set up your new landing page you do it on a site with a different ip. That being said, you still might not be able to advertise diet offers on that adwords account anymore.

My diet campaigns got slapped after running for 3 months. I set up a new site / ip / campaigns and was slapped again 3 days later. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Colon / Acai / Green Tea are all taking hits.

As I understand it, the domain gets tainted, not necessarily the IP address. If that was the case, nobody would be safe running their sites on a shared server.

Is my friend's site burnt for other PPC campaigns other than weight loss?

He sales different things on different parts of his site.

Its never the IP address that gets flagged but the domain and the adwords account its self. Your friend may or may not be ok, since it was on a sub domain.
