I've got bored of telling people I "make websites" for a living, as while it's true it's a small part of it, but when I've explained a bit further they either turn off or want me to spoon feed them a guide on how to get started.

I was wondering if anyone had a better way of putting it across, especially to the ladies at bars.

Or do you just lie?

Chief executive of a digital media company.

You define the vision and manage general company shit for a company which manages a number of internet assets.

Just tell the chicks at the bar, you are a doctor/dentist/stock brocker/Manager of a IT MUTUAL FUND named BIG KOCK ENTERPRISE'S, and most of the chicks at the bar's will be impressed by that, not like you are fucking taking her to your house or some shit, take her to motel 6 , turn that shit into 69, leave the room and move on to DD's

Entrepreneur obviously, are you that retarded you don't know what you do?

I often find telling people i "make websites" backfires, as they suddenly want me to make one for them or someone they know. I then have to be polite and tell them I'm too busy, but then they ask who I would recommend.

That's great if you want a blank stare, but it's not really an answer that can bring about any understanding, which is what I would like.

Just say the same thing, with different words.

Like: "I develop and manage a portfolio of online properties, monetized to earn income from a variety of sources."

When I tell people what I do (I usually just say web developer, and if they want more info I just say something like the quote above), it also sometimes leads to them asking me to build a website for them or a friend. I don't see it as backfiring, I don't mind - I'll throw up a nice looking WP theme and host it on one of my shared accounts, make a quick $500+ for an hour or less of work.

edit: now if you mean they are asking you to build them a website for free, tell them to fuck off.

When I'm talking to a slut I go like "I manage Assets bitch"

Seriously though I tell people I manage online assets.

I don't even bother to dive into details. I'm an entrepreneur that's laser focused on creating wealth. People then seem obligated to tell me about their "idea" and how I could potentially get "in", sheeple stuff.

Give it to them straight; I'm a entrepreneur, and I live life totally free. What do you do?

Just tell them you bang code in mums basement all night and sleep all day

Too much real life there.

I just say "marketing", if they press for details I tell them that I increase sales for clients websites.

Explaining affiliate stuff generally got blank looks in the past.
