I actually liked the guy a lot. Used to talk to him on the phone all the time. He owed me $1500 personally, and $1500 to my company. He managed to pay me back personally, but still owes my company $1500.

Pretty sure I'm not the only one here who Dave owes money too.

I personally got screwed by 5 different service providers ($1,500+) since I signed up to this forum in 2009. Problem with that is the trend... the last 4 times were in the past 2 years. I pretty much stopped buying anything from this forum.
 
sort of concerning since the last post I recall was the one where he was talking about his daughter or stepdaughter plotting to kill him and his wife.
 
I was supposed to get lunch with this guy since he came to New Haven sometimes.

I'm in New Haven now... is he? DAVE?
 
Have you tried contacting him? How far apart was the personal payment deadline and the company payment deadline? He is a great guy, I'd be VERY surprised to find out he was intentionally not paying a debt.

Hopefully he posts and this all gets resolved, assuming everything you're stating is the truth.

Yes, I remember that, strange story and after that it seemed like personal stuff went down and he never got back.

I do think there's quite a few too many biz people with bad morals in the selling section this last year or two. Not ITE as such, I think he got into hard times, but I've also lost a grand or so from someone I saw posting today who never finished the job and kept saying tomorrow.

The problem is that the problem is people like me, who can't be bothered writing a scathing review when it is in fact warrranted. The trust system breaks down. At this point I am only buying from people I have seen post normal stuff in the STS for a while. Of course, I also found a great designer here who's been doing stuff for me a long time now, so it's not all bad, but a lot of it really is crap with crap on top, just marked up at a higher rate, because WF is the only non-peasent public forum in the AM biz.

Depends on how you define peasent.

It is also my understand that there are less ballers here now as in really big time ballers.

There is middle ground between earning $500 from Adsense and driving a Lambo though. I'd like to think or hope that most people here at least make a comfortable living or if they're not that comfortable at least they have enough to prioritize a life of free movement and travel.

It's been almost 2 years now and I have contacted him about it. I gave him plenty of time and went completely out of my way to work with him. Pretty sure the debt isn't getting paid back at this point.

Meh, part of doing business, it's just a shame.
 
Yeah - he owes everyone money. He owes the service providers he was buying the services from money - the people he was selling the services to-money.

Cocaine is a hell of a drug. So is growing up in America. Had he been a proper immigrant who came to America - he'd have learned that people take limbs for this kind of theft.

Never trust these anarcho-capitalist fuckers. They harp on about their utopia and the state stealing from everyone, and it turns out he owes a bunch of fuckers money. Another classic Wickedfire fall from grace to add to the long list.

Although to be fair, if we were living in an anarcho-capitalist society, you could send your private security team to get your money back from him.

Bro I think ancaps are out to lunch myself but your sweeping globalization is not warranted. There are a number of past and current ancap types here who have and do provide services with utmost professionalism. And also give good reacharounds.
