What kinda redirect should I use

I have two sites, one gets traffic and the other not so much. One is HTML the other wordpress. The Wp site mirrors the HTML site but I eventually want to get rid of the HTML site. Updating both with the same new content is a bitch.

However, the HTML site has age and a few thousand backlinks. The WP site has ease of use, an older similar domain name and is the one i want to concentrate on building out.

The question is - can i redirect the URL's from the HTML site to the WP site equivalents without losing the existing Google juice?

A 301 redirects and keeps most of the link juice.

Yes, you can use 301 redirect from your HTML site to your wordpress site.
Definitely you will lose some PR but I think that loss is affordable.

Also, you will lose some rankings and traffic but things will bounce back to normal soon.
