I'm interested in starting an affiliate program with support for multiple merchants, but I have some questions about the functionality provided by the major affiliate networks;
- Are merchants able to change the price of their products whenever they want? If an affiliate who's advertising products from a program publishes ads with that product's price, it may become outdated. If the merchant can change the price, is the affiliate notified automatically? Are there constraints on how often the merchant may change the price?
- If a buyer buys a product from a third party merchant through my site's marketplace, without the aid of an affiliate, will it piss them off if I take the affiliate's commission? It's only fair, but if the other networks give the merchant 100% of the profit minus the network's standard cut, I want to do so as well.
